Comparison and Contrast of a News for Two Different News Program

The news is about an ambushed of Mr. Danny Yang, Board Member of San Pablo City, Laguna. He attended a town fiesta in Brgy. San Bautista same province when 5 unknown gunmen ambushed him. His bodyguard Brando delos Reyes, Manolo Barcenas, former Brgy. Captain and unidentified suspect were also killed. His wife Angie expected this ambushed to happen due to his husband job and his plan to run for vice – governor position this coming election. Police officers are investigating the case and look the side that it was connected to drug syndicate and political issues.

The news was aired last June 25, 2009 around 8 PM in different shows: TV Patrol World of ABS-CBN and News on Q of QTV 11. TV Patrol World presents the news with their own exclusive video where it was happen with an interviews to some people involve in the news. It also showcase balancing theme of news. Statement of witness, policemen and other persons related to the news were given a balance chance to speak or give their sides regarding the issue. This balancing way of seeing each side is what we called Social Responsibility Theory. Theory that states media should take each side which is responsible for the issue. Reporters should be responsible to cover up all necessary angles to see the real score to the news. Like what the TV Patrol did, they interviewed person like Ms. Evelyn Samson, Brgy. Captain which is at state of shocked. Ms. Samson stated what happened during the ambushed. The reporter also interviewed the wife of the victim, policemen and some witness, respectively. In this way, the reporter could easily transpose the news to audience for better understanding. They also have exclusive reports of interviewed persons for an in – depth tackle to the news. TV Patrol should have an update regarding the news to further discuss and close the issue. The usual thing in news is to have open-ended type which means they didn’t close the issue and further find solution.

News on Q of QTV 11 does the same as the other network made. They also have reporter doing the interview to the family of the ambush. They intend to inform the public regarding the ambushed happened in San Pablo, Laguna. Calling for the attention of the witness and getting their side is the most important content in news. For this happened, the news became even better for the understanding of viewers. The least thing the program forgot is to have on-hand footage where the crime happened. The use of on-hand footage helps them to better understand the news. They should partly show the part where it happened and some witnesses at the scene. Witnesses at scene are the most important in a crime to be videoed. Normally, news should contain enough evidences showing the suspect and more witness to strongly define the news. For this matter, they can perfectly say that the crime is not a joke to happen. Documentation of the event is evidently can help for further investigation. News on Q only showed clippings of places where it happened, picture of the victims and interview to the relatives. They just say that they have exclusive video but just clippings of crime scene. This material would help just a bit to understand the news. News should contain full packed information for its audiences.

News should always be informative and balance. Viewers could easily understand it if they put more videos concerning to news. This may help the audience to better understand the news. Delivering news have different format. They just have to bear in mind that it is use for the sake of persuasion and information.

Radio Tour

December last year before our Christmas break, my professor tasked us to do a radio tour for our major subject which is Scriptwriting for Radio and Television. My friends and I bumped up to the conclusion of doing it as documentation at ABS CBN. We had chose this one because of my friend, Ellah. Her dad is working their so, we find it not hard to do letter just to got interviews and pictures for WRR and DZMM. We don't know that we are just required to take documentations at FM station, didn't knowing this thing, we come up to idea of conducting both task on to the station to make sense of everything. I, Cheeno, Yvette, Ellah, Bern and Erika went their with great energy and exciting faces because we could see people especially celebrities and take them pictures as well.
We bumped up with Ms. Bernadette Sembrano. She's pretty much more on television. Kind-heart and sweet. We saw her at ABS lobby going somewhere else. I think it was after her taping for Umagang Kay Ganda. I was the one taking pictures of them. See my pals over smiling and crazy to take pictures with artist. Just kidding aside.

We also saw Ms. Winnie Cordero at her office doing her radio script for her radio forecast. We are too shy to take picture of her. But because we want to, we grab the opportunity of picture taking. Bern took the picture and I accompanied with my friends together with her in the picture. She is also approachable and beautiful as well. She asked us where do we came from. We told her that we came straight from Cavite. She surprisingly answers that we should take a tour so we would not spoil our visiting. We thank her and decide to really conduct a radio tour at WRR and DZMM. WRR tour happened after we took our lunch. Kua Raymond, our tour guide help us and explain everything about the radio equipment and the routine at radio booth.
He toured us around the booth and explain everything happened inside it. We saw China-heart having his massage. Kua Raymond introduce us to him and let us watch him and DJ Cha-cha's conversation version in WRR. They are really prolific and full of sense of humor. So wonderful because no dead air at radio. They had a perfect team up at radio conversation. Full of life and humorous topics. Even though DJ Cha-cha is new, she easily adopt to the shows flow. Two thumbs-up for the two of them. They also greeted us on-air and allow us to greet to listeners. Such a wonderful, extraordinary, and extravagant experience.

After the tour at FM station, we took a rest and decide to go at Starbucks. I surprisingly disagree to go their because it would be expensive to buy those drinks. But, they forced me to buy so I can't disagree and I convinced myself that its for first time so why not to try... We saw lots of celeb their including Meryl Soriano, Edu Manzano some TV patrol reporters, Ms, Pinky Webb and Carlo Guevarra. After some picture taking to celeb, we finally take a seat and buy Starbucks coffee. I prefer chocolate drink because I might get disappointed if I chose coffee drinks. It's quite long to take orders because lots of people like to buy. After a couple of minute I finally taste the "coffee of stars". It taste the same like any other drink. Maybe because they told it like that because stars crave to have it as well as the fan like it too.

We took pictures of the place and also pictures of our coffee. We too little ignorant because of i. But, we love the experience of tasting it just to try. Trying it make us not ignorant and consider ourselves as elite... Just kidding. We laughed all day long and never noticed that lights from heaven swallowed by dark sky. Meaning its getting dark and we have to get back to Newsrooms to take tour to AM radio booth. We accompanied by Ellah's closest guard which is friend of his dad. We finally made it to the last pit stop of our adventure which is to see Mr. Anthony Taberna. We imagined his so serious and can't approach because of his professionalism. But this alligators fails us because his so approachable and made sorry because his busy and had to go after his radio program. We decided to come with his radio program which is Teleradyo. His a passionate man with endearing dedication to his job. He never make any faces of nervousness regarding protest to government officials regarding corruptions and many more issues to government and politicians.

journey 4 a cause

I really feel great when traveling. For me its a feeling of exploring what you want to see and slightly nervous feeling that you might got lost from nowhere. But those feelings are just normal.

such a long day.. haizt... it's been a long tiring and head-aching day for all of masscom pipz... from scratch to exhibiting board in our photo exhibit... the exhibit showcases the photos that we capture from our own ideas... The exhibit comprise whole lot of fun, confusion, irritated and angry faces of my colleagues. Those feelings were faded and replace by smiling faces and laughter.

The picture falls to human interest category. I can't remember its title. Hihih... Sad to say it didn't won. Badly I want to win but winning is not my game. This picture was taken in Amadeo, Cavite. Place serves as our subject for Photography class. A bit hard to take pictures but it takes a lot of charm and charisma to convince the subject to do what you want it to be. Like the picture on the left side, I just took a stolen shot of two women living in a old, ruined house. Although poor, they sure make their life comfortable since its hard to live for now. They surely contented on what they have for no as long as they live and love together. I titled it as "Live In", coz on my first sight of this photo, this title pop-up in my mind and curiously I named it that way.

I had taken this picture also in Amadeo. Its hard to find a subject in such one day and to think that it will be an astonishing photo of the year. I really had a hard time to convince the child just to pose for my shot. Its a portrait style of taking photos. As his mom says, "Mahirap kunan 'yan sobrang mahiyain", it takes a lot of courage and patience to do. But, because I'm a mass comm studes I had convince him and finally he never haad a tantroums. I didn't jointhis photo in our exhibit. Myprofessor had to get it and I insisted to give it so, I didn't gave it. Hahah... So, selfish of me.

Next photo that I have shot is the church of Amadeo. I had a hard time to took it and captivating the shot I want. It was raining when I caught it so I must really have to speed up my time taking it picture. My professor also told us that never capture architectural building like houses and churches but I don't have a choice most of my group mates had took pictures of houses. So I grab the opportunity and take the chance of taking it before somebody will do it too.

On this side, I have taken picture of a landscape of a house in Amadeo. I boosted up myself to convince the owner to take a picture of their landscape. It capture my attention because of its uniqueness and simplicity. Although not that good to take, still a piece to be proud of. Honestly, it was hard to take pictures because the owner of the house persistently looking at me until I got finished the taking picture. After taking picture, the owner wants to see the picture if its nice or bad. But, I told her I was using an SLR camera and in order to look at it it has to be developed. Then she agreed and finally let me out in thier house.

We have four boards in displace. We showcases photos of our own captured of architectural sites, landscape natural scenery, portrait of different people and collaboration of human interest in the real face of society. It's been a tiring day but worth it to be summed. I must say that its just the beginning of our long journey in fulfilling our different dreams and precise goals in life. It's just an inch of what we can do. It is the start of busy schedules for the preparation of our week-long exams. Finally, it is the start of our semestral break. I'm so happy to say that we can rest for a bit after the exhausted days in college. It is hard to face those days in tertiary level but, those rigid days is the key to success. Well, well, well, glad to tell you that it is fine for now but I can say that it will stay good as long as masscom pipz will cooperate. Masscom pipz always rule.♣:-)

from scratch to will...

have you ever realized that every time you were alone you will never see the real beauty of life. Don't just relax and sit in all ways of your life. Use those feet of yours to explore the wonder of your surroundings. Life is not an empty bottle that every time you want to fill is the time you just have to put. Don't be stagnant in just one place live your life to the fullest. Enjoy being yourself and don't think others might says to you. Those things will never help you to overcome your inhibitions in life. Rock on, laugh till you drop and head bang as long as you want. There are lot of places to go in order to forget the tragedy or what so ever. It's my first time to use the bLog.. Some of my colleagues told me that its good to have because in this way you can express anything you want to say. Maybe to your enemy, friends, and whoever he/she or it may be. I'm not good in expressing myself to other. So I gradually take the chance to do this because I have some problems that I might see that can't be solve by anyone. even me I can't accomplish this problems I have. I want to share it but I can't put it into words. I can't figured out how to express it because of my insecurity. If ever your in my case you may understand what I'm trying to impose. I'm saying non-sense things you can't even get any lessons or help in reading this blog. Its a non-sense to read. I just want to have a journal I might say to just release the anger I have now. I really feel bad every time I did wrong things. I want to kick myself and punch my face just to realize that I did wrong choice. Although I have lots of choices to choose from but I did a wrong decision. I really feel bad, terrible, disgusting and anything that may connect to bad ideas. I don't; know what is wrong with me but I must say I admit those wrong choices and I see to it that I will never ever do those things in my entire life. This is not a so good blog that you ever read in your life. I'm an amateur writer in here and I consider this blog as an introduction of my long writings in life. Somebody sees me as industrious but I step on some feelings of my colleagues. I didn't intended to do it but its just an instant reaction of my emotions. I'm sorry to do those things. There is a book that I have read that says that doing wrong things to other may make stronger relationship to them. You may even consider him/her as closest friends and closest enemy as well. For last say, I may not perfect like you but this is me the deeply self-centered emotional person. I don't share my thoughts and feelings I keep it myself because I don't want to be ridiculous when somebody heard my feelings. Men should not be emotional but that is in latter year of oldies but now men and women are in same ground that both of them are emotional in any matter. My first blog and my first expression of real me... Happy when you look at me but , deeply sad inside.
